Nokia has announced that EA Mobile's The Sims 2 Pets is now live for N-Gage. You should be able to download the free trial from within the N-Gage application now, and then choose how you want to pay for the full game.

We weren't big fans of the Java version of The Sims 2 Pets, to say the least, but that was 18 months ago, so hopefully the N-Gage edition is much better.

It'll face stiff competition from Gameloft's Dogz though, as the two canine sims go head-to-head on Nokia's gaming service.

Anyway, The Sims 2 Pets on N-Gage lets you bring up your own pup. That means taking it to the park, buying it toys and accessories, and teaching it all manner of tricks.

The game features online rankings via Nokia's N-Gage Arena community, too, so you can see whether your approach warrants a call to the RSPCA.
