If you're one of those people who likes to sit idly by whilst others work their socks off then we're awfully sorry to wake you, but it might be worth raising an eyebrow to acknowledge the arrival of classic strategy title Settlers on Nintendo DS.

The game places you as leader of a settling tribe, demands you order around your eponymous followers and then enables you to sit back and watch as your animated chaps and chapesses go about the business of cutting down trees, building houses, mining and the like.

With the DS' split-screen offering a neat way to separate the stat-packed resource pages from the animated action, we're quite hopeful that this could add some welcome strategy depth to the pocket gaming library. But despite a release slated before the end of the year, Ubisoft seems to be somewhat reluctant to talk much about the game so far, with just these German-language screen grabs leaking out onto the net.

So far we know that there will be four factions to chose from (Roman, Viking, Nubian and Asian), 30 job types, six soldier types and at least two distinct campaigns (Roman or Global) plus a quick free-play option.

More news will inevitably wend its way to our door in the near future, so if you want to get the latest and quite frankly can't be bothered to keep coming back here to check, click the 'Track It!' button below.

(Or, if you just can't wait to put others to work, then check out the latest Townsmen game available right now for your mobile phone).
