The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor mobile shots unearthed
Gameloft raises the dead in the movie tie-in
Rick O'Connell swings back into boots-first archaeological action at the beginning of August in the third Mummy movie. To celebrate the occasion Gameloft has brought Jet Li's the dead Chinese emperor back to life in the mobile adaptation.
Following the intrepid O'Connell family into Chinese mythology, players will be taken through 2D action levels that follow the plot of the film, wage war on museum relics come to life with shotguns and grenades and test their all-American brawn with a couple of memory and logic mini-games.
Gameloft also promises 3D vistas of China's most treasured monuments as Rick and Co undoubtedly destroy them and generally reduce two billion people to amusing stereotypes of vitriolic mobsters and toothless peasantry.
Still, the action looks pretty hot in the just released screenshots, so let's hope the The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor lives up to the camp spectacular of the first movie and avoids the rubbishness of the second's film's ending.
