The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night goes mobile

Vivendi Games Mobile preparing new dragon platformer

The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night goes mobile

If you're a big fan of Spyro, get ready for a treat. Vivendi Games Mobile has unveiled its next mobile game based on the little fella. It's called The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night, and is due out in October (and if it sounds familiar it's because there's a version also coming for DS).

The game features 13 levels to play through, including eight bosses to battle along the way. Vivendi says the fighting scenes have been tweaked to include more shoot-'em-up elements, with you turning pilot to blow away waves of monsters.

Spyro himself has four new special attacks, while the scenery promises to be more interactive than previous games, including traps, elemental doors, and breakable walls. The game's visuals have also been beefed up to be more colourful and detailed.

Oh, and according to the press release the storyline apparently concerns "what it means to be a purple dragon" (i.e. you have flamey nostrils and accessorise well with gold).
