It's a load of contraptions!

The Incredible Machine comes to mobile

There aren't enough games about Inventing Stuff, which is why anyone who played The Incredible Machine in the mid-to-late 1990s will have such fond memories of it.

The idea was to use all manner of strange objects – pulleys, levers, balloons, motors, and so on – to solve a series of mechanical problems. It was truly brain-bending stuff, and looking back, would seem to be ideally suited to a modern mobile game...

Yep, you probably saw this coming. Vivendi Games Mobile has snapped up the rights, meaning that The Incredible Machine is coming to mobile with 60 problems to solve, plus another 20 bonus levels.

The game will feature 34 objects that you can use to solve the levels, including all those listed above. The original game's Professor TIM will judge your creations, and unlock bonus levels, new backgrounds, and music if you score highly enough.

Vivendi says the game will have two modes: Classic, and Free. The latter will let you create whatever dastardly invention you like from the objects unlocked in the Classic mode.

We're looking forward to getting our grubby hands on the game soon.
