This time last year we reported on a licensing agreement that Sega had struck with comic powerhouse Marvel to produce games based on some of its biggest franchises. The exclusive, multi-year agreement covered licences such as The Incredible Hulk, Thor and Captain America and applied to both the original comics and films.

Now, in preparation for The Incredible Hulk film, which is to be released in June and stars Edward Norton as Bruce Banner aka The Hulk, Sega has started to speak about the game tie-in it's working on, also due for release in June.

Unsurprisingly, the game is a third-person action title that puts you in the shoes and ripping clothes of both Banner and his big angry green alter ego. No gameplay information has been revealed as yet, but the formats on which the game will be released on has. Handheld-wise, the game is currently scheduled for release on DS - that's alongside the home consoles Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and Wii and also PC.

While superhero games quite often get it wrong - remember 2006's Superman Returns? - and film licence games can be dodgy if rushed to coincide with the film they're based on, the game of the first Incredible Hulk film - The Hulk, (which was published by Vivendi) - actually wasn't all that bad.

Perhaps there's only so far you can go wrong if you give the player the ability to chuck buses and lampposts at people. And if for that reason alone, we're looking forward to seeing what Sega can do with the licence.
