Phosphor Games Studio's moody first-person horror title The Dark Meadow is out now in New Zealand as a Universal app, meaning it'll shoot onto App Stores around the world later this evening.

Blending combat, suspense, and exploration with a sprinkling of RPG elements, The Dark Meadow promises to offer a truly adult gaming experience, with the abandoned hospital’s crumbling corridors and deformed inhabitants all rendered using Unreal Engine 3.

The Dark Meadow was described by its developer as a kind of "modern fairytale" when we interviewed it about the project. Phosphor even went so far as to liken the fantastical atmosphere to that of Pan’s Labyrinth's.

Find out for yourself at around midnight this evening, for that's when The Dark Meadow will be available to download. It's likely to be priced at £3.99 / $5.99 on iPhone and iPad.
