Warners breaks out its socially precocious Clique

In the words of Cecilia from The Virgin Suicides, I've never been a 13-year-old girl so the success of The Clique, the best-selling young adult book series by author Lisi Harrison is somewhat beyond me.

Let's hope it's not beyond the wit of the developers at Gorilla Systems however, as they've been tasked with turning that book into a DS game The Clique: Teen Queen to be published by Warner Bros.

Your task is to arrive as a new student in high school in New York City, making friends and increasing your popularity in an effort to join the ultimate clique, the Pretty Committee.

You can, of course, increase your social standing by playing a variety of mini-games to earn money for the latest clothing and accessories. There will also be challenges and tricky situations galore as you interact with the various stereotypical characters aka the gorgeous one, the one who thinks she needs to lose weight, the super smart one etc.

The Clique: Teen Queen is due to rustle up envious glances and smug arrogance sometime during the autumn.
