If you've bought the mobile conversion of 2004 PlayStation 2 fantasy-RPG The Bard's Tale for your iPhone or iPad, you'll probably be pleased to read that you're going to get some free games.

The title's first free update, which inXile Entertainment's CEO Brian Fargo is hoping will launch next week, will arrive packing the classic 1987 Apple II edition of The Bard's Tale.

Subsequent updates will include The Bard's Tale II and The Bard's Tale III. These should be rolled out at monthly intervals.

If you aren't familiar with The Bard's Tale, it's a fantasy-RPG that sees you take on the role of a womanising lout, voiced by British actor Cary Elwes.

A tale of two women

At review, we awarded The Bard's Tale a shiny Silver accolade, so it's worth checking out.

You can grab it from the App Store as a Universal app for £3.99 / $5.99.
