Why is everyone so down on zombies? They're always the baddies in games and films, lurching about until a hero blows them to pieces with a suitably powerful firearm.

Can't someone help them break out of this fictional stereotype? After all, the Thriller video proved that, sometimes, they just want to dance with us, not kill us.

Sadly, Zed has opted for the prevailing trend in its new mobile game Terror's Seed. It sees you playing a cop who visits his parents, only to find a devastated town with no signs of life.

Well, apart from the legions of zombies and monsters.

Sounds like a recipe for a 2D adventure game to us. You have to explore a haunted mansion, laying waste to the beasties with an array of weapons, finding keys to unlock doors, and grabbing first-aid kits to keep yourself healthy.

It sounds (and looks) a lot like Rovio's Darkest Fear games – check Darkest Fear 3 for the best example. Hopefully Zed's game will live up to those lofty standards, although you'll have to join its subscription service to get hold of it.
