Sony’s new F1 racer features the British Grand Prix-winning team and drivers

McLaren in Pole Position

How’s that for timing? Sony released Team McLaren Mercedes Racing the same weekend as the team’s silver and black cars finished the British Grand Prix first and third. The arcade-style game features the team’s four drivers (Juan Pablo Montoya, Kimi Raikkonen, Alex Wurz and Pedro de la Rosa), any one of which you can play as you challenge for the world championship.

You’ll visit 16 tracks and each is viewed from a birds-eye perspective as you race against 7 computer opponents. Pitstops are a necessity and here you’ll play as one of your mechanics who’s trying to connect the refuelling nozzle. Time is of the essence – take too long to refuel and your competitors will leave you behind! Weather conditions can have an impact too, with races in the wet being particularly slippery when just staying on the asphalt track is as important as speed.

The game is available by texting MCLAREN to 88188 and costs £5.
