Tap Tap Revenge 4 coming to Android this spring, in-app purchases in Honeycomb 3.0 a 'coming of age'
Google grooves to the beat of a new drum
Not content with dominating the App Store, freemium music game Tap Tap Revenge 4 is now coming to Android devices.
The game was released on iPhone last December. It involves tapping in time to the beat of various songs in order to gain a high score.
Tap Tap Revenge relies on players purchasing tracks to play, so the inability to make an in-app purchase in an Android App has remained a barrier to the game’s release on the platform. This is set to change with the release of the Honeycomb 3.0 version of Android, and developer Tapulous’s parent company Disney Mobile is keen to take advantage.
Disney executive Bart Decrem explained to VentureBeat that the release of Honeycomb represents, "a coming of age of the platform.”
Tap Tap Revenge will be released on Android this spring.
