New deal with Universal Music brings more Tap Tap Revenge games

A new deal has been struck between Universal Music Group and Tap Tap Revenge developer Tapulous, according to a report on MocoNews.

Around six branded music/rhythm games are expected over the next year, beginning with a 14-track Lady Gaga game in July, followed by branded titles featuring Eminem and Black Eyed Peas.

But the new iPhone 3.0 software is offering Tapulous the chance to finally make its dominating iPhone presence pay for itself. Previously, its biggest hits have been free games, but the micro-transaction feature will apparently allow the developer to sell tracks directly in-game, for around $0.50 each.

CEO Bart Decrem said this should ensure his company becomes profitable this summer, and promises a whole new kind of music/rhythm game for the iPhone this autumn.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
