You can stop drumming your fingers impatiently now. Well...

Tap Tap Revenge 2 opens for free on the iPhone

Only yesterday we were fawning over the brand new trailer for Tap Tap Revenge 2, and as we browse the App Store while laying awake all night we suddenly discover it’s been released!

Although the game mechanics are much the same, the new graphical style we talked about really adds some fluorescent vinegar to the experience.

There’s a list of over 150 tracks you can download from Tapulous at varying difficulties, with a mixture of rock, pop, dance, electronic, rap and country - with the promise of new songs added each week.

The game will also take you directly to the correct iTunes page if you come across a track that you want to listen to as well a beat your fingers against.

This is a sales method that’s apparently worked extremely well for bands, including mainstream acts like Katy Perry, and explains why there are so many artists lining up to get on the Tap Tap Revenge 2 playlist.

Hopefully the previous game’s success (which currently clocks over six million downloads) will continue in the sequel, and encourage a lot more bands to get in on this innovative new way of accessing your ears.

And being supported by ads, it’s great to see Tapulous has managed to keep Tap Tap Revenge 2 completely free. So, if you’re ready for a new round of finger tapping iPhone fun, the game’s ready and waiting.

Check out the trailer if you need more convincing, but there’s absolutely no point in not downloading it, to be honest.

Oi, Tapulous! I'd like to put a vote in for some classic house tracks. You know - Bomb the Bass, S-Express, The KLF, Humanoid.

Anyone else got any requests?

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
