iPhone music game Tap Tap Revenge has been one of the big hits on the App Store this year, racking up more than three million downloads, and recently signing up some big-name bands like the Kaiser Chiefs and Katy Perry.

Now its developer, Tapulous, has unveiled two new premium versions of the game: Tap Tap Dance, and Christmas With Weezer.

Tap Tap Dance is due out today, and is based on the second-generation version of the Tap Tap Revenge game engine. As you might guess from the title, the focus is firmly on bleeps and beats, with a genuinely stellar line-up of artists.

Like who? Only Justice, Moby, Daft Punk, Junkie XL, the Chemical Brothers, Soulwax, Basement Jaxx, Digitalism, Sunny Levine, Tiesto, and the Soul Magic Orchestra. Not bad, eh?

The game's been given a graphical overhaul, and has new gameplay features like tap-and-hold and multi taps.

"Every song can have its own look and feel, with much richer visual effects," says Tapulous boss Bart Decrem. "For Daft Punk, Moby and Justice we created a custom experience that almost feels like an interactive music video. It's moving way beyond just being a game that's familiar to people who play Guitar Hero and Rock Band, and becoming something that's a different experience."

Tap Tap Dance will cost $4.99 in the US when it comes out this week. We'll get a UK price for you as soon as we can.

Meanwhile, Christmas With Weezer has a pretty self-explanatory title. The alt-pop band went into the studio and recorded cover versions of six Christmas songs for the game: Come All Ye Faithful, First Noel, Hark The Herald Angel Sings, Oh Holy Night, Silent Night, and We Wish You A Merry Christmas.

"We've been approached by a number of labels and bands about doing themed versions, and Weezer reached out to us about a month ago, saying they'd been thinking about doing something for Christmas," says Decrem.

"We suggested working together on that, the manager ran it by the band, and they got excited and days later went into the studio and recorded the six covers! This game is the only place to get them, too: the tracks won't be sold elsewhere."

The game also features two bonus tracks from their new album. It uses the same 2.0 engine as Tap Tap Dance, and will launch later this month – also for $4.99.
