If you're a follower of the 'sport', you'll probably have heard of TNA Wrestling. For those unfamiliar with pro wrestling, the TNA bit stands for Total Nonstop Action – no ambiguities there, then.

Presumably the source content should make for an exciting mobile game, though, as long as the game has something to differentiate it from its peers in the WWE camp. Indeed, one of the main bullet points on the press release we should mention is that TNA Wrestling hopes to make good use of the ringside mellow drama that typically surrounds the matches and a narrative of sorts is promised.

To that end, you enter the world of TNA Wrestling as an up-and-coming rising star as opposed to an established king of the ring, though the pros that fans already know and worship will be peppered throughout the game as your opponents.

Also promised is turn-based wrestling gameplay, customizable characters, special matches such as tag team gauntlet and iron man formats, and an unlockable "unlimited wrestling mode".

Sounds like a thoughtful spin on the theatrical pugilism that is pro wrestling and could be a winner if the visuals and gameplay can best the lacklustre WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2008 3D. We'll certainly be putting the game through the ringer when we get our hands on a copy for review this spring.
