THQ Wireless unveils an evil looking mobile games lineup
|

If it is indeed hip to be bad, then THQ Wireless' E3 lineup is cooler than a pimped-up mother-fuxxin' Uzi 9mm, made of ice, you dig?

Ahem, sorry about that, just getting into character to describe a mobile games range that most definitely grew up on the wrong side of the tracks.

First to turn to the dark side is Star Wars Imperial Ace, a new 3D space shooter that casts you as an Imperial pilot whose mission is to help Lord Vader crush the rebel forces. Enabling you to fly everything from TIE fighters to Imperial interceptors in space and planet-side missions, this promises to be…"the best mobile Star Wars game yet"… when it arrives in autumn. (Erm, did anyone else just feel a disturbance in The Force?)

Continuing the world-conquering theme, Destroy All Humans! 2 will once again enable you to join the alien invaders and turn against mankind. The sequel promises bigger weaponry with which to dispatch the puny earthlings, more missions, and an all-new team gameplay feature set to abduct your spare time around September.

If earth-bound evildoers are more your thing then The Sopranos Poker should be of interest, enabling you deal with the mob (and bluff them). Play five card draw against Tony Soprano, Paulie and Silvio in the back room at the Bada Bing!, or Hold'Em with the gorgeous dancers (we know which we'd prefer!) Available in the US now for Cingular subscribers, expect a European release before you can say 'Goodfellas'.

Saints Row offers yet more gangster action, but this time of a more hands on variety. As with the original Xbox 360 title, the mobile game demands players roam the city performing unsavoury acts for gang leaders in order to enhance their reputation and cash flow.

It's not all bad apples at THQw though. The ever-cheery SpongeBob SquarePants will also be heading to mobile, along with the Company of Heroes. We'll have more news on all those, plus NFL Football 2007, NBA Basketball 2007 and Juiced: Eliminator just as soon as we get it.

In the meantime you can put on your mean face and brood away the time until our hands on show report arrives – hopefully with some screens!
