T-Mobile UK has launched something called the Game Club, which offers free mobile games with adverts wrapped around them.

It went live this week with Pokermillion Texas Hold'em The Masters, with AMA IQ Booster, Pro Bowling, Pool Star and Einstein's Brain Game to follow in the coming weeks.

The games will be free to download (including data charges), but you'll have to view two full-screen ads before playing, and two before quitting a game. Paramount Pictures has signed up as one of the first batch of advertisers.

"The launch of ad-funded games further strengthens T-Mobile's mobile gaming offering to consumers," says Damien Byrne, head of new proposition development at T-Mobile. "We continue to make mobile gaming easier than ever before and a more enjoyable experience for our customers."

That's as maybe, but we'll be interested to see which games (and which publishers) come to the Games Club in the coming months.

T-Mobile is one of the first operators to launch an ad-funded mobile games service like this - and as far as we know the first in the UK.
