It seems like we've been talking about Google and Androids and T-Mobile G1 handsets for ages now, but the anticipated phone is finally yours to own on £35 and £40 per month contracts starting today.

T-Mobile spread a few rumours here and there about massive G1 pre-sales orders over in the US, and although it's not seeing the public mania that greeted the iPhone, it's apparently doing quite well in this country, too.

There's already a few free games and more than a few free apps floating around in Android town, so any early adopters should have plenty to do with their new toy. If you're one such technophile, be sure to let us know your first impressions.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
