Venture Kid is headed to Nintendo Switch as a console exclusive

A blast from the past

Summary News Review Screens Videos Articles Tips
Product: Venture Kid | Publisher: FDG Entertainment
For: Switch   Also on: iPhone, iPad

Venture Kid, the Megaman-like from indie developers FDG Entertainment, is headed to Nintendo Switch as a console exclusive. The homage to classic 8-bit platformers is making the move to the PC and Switch sometime soon.

Playing as the “kid”, you’ll battle your way through a looming space fortress that’s full of dangers. From hungry rats to spiky pits and other hazards, you’ll have to pick your way through deadly environmental challenges while engaging in occasional firefights. You’ll have your pick of weapons and other helpful powers to assist you, but Venture Kid is not an easy ride.

We quite liked Venture Kid when we first played it on iOS. The game isn’t shy about the nostalgia factor, but has enough variety to keep it from feeling derivative. It’s challenging, no doubt, but it’s not cruel, and you’ll feel immensely satisfied when you succeed.

There’s no word yet on when we can expect Venture Kid on Switch, but we’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
