I know, I know, you'll be sick of hearing about it by now but Stardew Valley is so close to releasing on the Switch we can practically taste it... only, things aren't quite as simple as you'd think.

As the CEO and Designer at Chucklefish, Tiy, mentioned on Reddit, across the industry submission guidelines are pretty strict and just because a game's been submitted doesn't mean it'll be coming out the next week. In fact, apparently it's common for games to require a little tweak here and there before meeting the platform's rules/requirements.

"It's a back and forth, and although we're not predicting any problems, at the same time, the nature of the work is that it wouldn't be remotely surprising. The general rule of thumb most games studios operate under is to expect to submit to a platform at least twice (this is our second submission), but it's also not remotely uncommon to hear of 3 or 4 submissions."

So, while things may look pretty positive at the moment, we still can't predict when the game will be coming out on the Switch, but here's to hoping it won't be too much longer.

Just to add in that extra tease, the post ended with, "Also, the game plays beautifully on the switch. So I don't think you'll be disappointed."
