 NINTENDO SWITCH NEWS - UPCOMING

A Pokemon Switch game could kick off with the 8th generation

But when?

Summary News Review Screens Videos Articles Tips
For: Switch

Traces of a new, full Pokemon game have been mere rumors and whispers, but we finally caught word that the next generation of Pokemon could indeed be coming to Nintendo Switch.

The Spanish edition of the Official Nintendo Magazine covered the news, saying that the next generation, if featured on the Switch, may incorporate new mechanics to keep things fresh. There's still no hint as to when the next game could launch, be it later this year or further in the future.

With the promise of new mechanics, it will be interesting to see how the Nintendo Switch transforms our expectations for traditional Pokemon games. It's a more powerful system than the 3DS, so it will be exciting to see what Game Freak and the Pokemon Company could do with a brand new world and more freedom in terms of design.

Of course, the magazine hasn't been flawlessly accurate in the past and there's no confirmation from either company, so we've got to take it with a little pinch of salt for now.

If Nintendo is going to drop the big news about the next Pokemon game, when do you think it'll be? We want to hear your theories in the comments.
