The Pokemon Company announces its eagerly awaited RPGs Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee and Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu for Switch

Fans have been calling for it since the Switch launched last year - 'we want an original Pokemon RPG', they said. Well, now it looks like it's finally happening with Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee/Pikachu.

Announced last night, Pokemon: Let's Go is a new RPG which offers up a great experience to both newcomers to the series and seasoned veterans. The games also have local two-player simultaneous play, encouraging families (or friends) to play together.

Apparently, the games will be deeply linked to Pokemon GO, so mobile-users are in for a treat, though how deep the connection goes just yet we're not sure. GO players will be able to bring their catalogue of captured Pokemon into P:LG and there's still a lot more detail to be revealed.

According to Yuji Nakamura who covered the reveal yesterday there aren't any online features planned at the moment and it doesn't require an internet connection to play. Reportedly, there will also only be about 151 Pokemon in the game, with one totally new one, and some from the Alola region.

The game can easily be played with one Joy-Con, with the other given to a friend, and you can throw Pokeballs by flicking your wrist or pressing a button. Of course, if you really want the full experience, there's a new gadget on the way called Poke Ball Plus.

Pokemon: Let's Go. Eevee/Pikachu launches on November 16th later this year. No word yet on pricing, but we'll keep an eye out.
