Online play just got a little pricier

Nintendo Switch Online service comes into effect in the second half of September

We all knew this day would come eventually and the good news is you don't have to worry about it for another month. Yes, Nintendo continue to narrow down their release window for the Switch's Online service and it looks like we'll be getting it towards the end of September.

If you're not aware just yet, the Online service will be a required purchase if you enjoy playing games like Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, or want to play the likes of Pokemon: Let's Go! or Super Smash Bros. Ultimate online. But, that's not all to be fair.

As we've talked about before, Online will bring about cloud saves (finally), exclusive members-only offers, and a load of classic NES games to play anywhere. We mentioned before that it'd be replacing the Virtual Console, which you can read about here.

While a lot of people are still unsure how to feel about the Online service, I'm not as bothered by it as I once was - though, I think that might be after learning the price points (and they're really not bad at all).

Check out all of the dirty details on Nintendo's official site and enjoy this last month of free online use while you can, Switch-users.
