It looks as though Nintendo is hoping to capitalize on the Switch’s overwhelming success, at least in Japan. The company is releasing a stripped down Switch bundle for Japanese markets that will sell for 24,980 yen, or about £170.

Nintendo Switch no dock set

This new package comes without the dock, HDMI cable, and AC adapter. That means you’ll have to purchase all of those accessories separately if you’re looking to use your Switch with your TV. You’ll still be able to charge the Switch with a USB cable. According to the Japanese Nintendo Store, you can also choose the exact colors of the Joy-Cons and their associated straps from seven different shades, and mixing and matching is certainly an option.

We’re not entirely sure if this bundle will make its way westward. It makes a lot of sense for the Japanese market, where mobile gaming is a huge industry thanks to the country’s heavy use of public transit. Vitas and 3DS handhelds are a common sight, and the Switch fits right in.

Would you think about purchasing the new Switch bundle if it were to head your way?
