PSA: You can now use your Nintendo Gold Points to buy games on Switch
|

Just as Nintendo announced a couple of days ago, you can now use your Gold Points to buy digital games on the Eshop. If you aren't aware, every time you purchase a digital or physical game, you gain some Gold Points that can go up to 5% of the price for digital purchases and 1% for physical carts.

It replaces the old Club Nintendo rewards that had some cool physical rewards that rotated after a few month and thus, it's a bit sad to see it completely disappear. Indeed, even the "Nintendo Switch Rewards" that used to be on the main menu of your MyNintendo account is gone, confirming that Gold Points will be the only type of reward moving forward.

Still, "free" money is always good and you might want to use those Gold Points soon, especially if you bought your Switch at launch as they expire one year after purchase in the US. Thus, those point will expire at the end of March.

If you're in Europe, they will only expire two years after the original purchase. You can check your balance here and use it on Nintendo's Eshop.
