Nintendo might be holding a Switch Direct on January 11th

What better way to get back into the swing of things after a lovely Christmas break than with a dip into rumour town? It looks like Nintendo may be holding a Direct as early as next week, but we won't know for sure until closer to the time.

After the apparent EA leak late last year in which it looked like Fe was being shown off in January, 18 placeholder titles went up for pre-order as spotted by Cheap Ass Gamer on Twitter. The listings were then hastily removed after each had a picture with the Switch logo and 'Just announced at the Switch event' on it.

Of course, Ninty held such a Direct in 2017 around this time so we really wouldn't be surprised if this rumour came to fruition next week. I can only hope that my personal 2018 predictions come true and that Ninty's in line for more original content.

It's not that the ports aren't great, but it'd be fantastic to get some more surprising titles. I doubt anything will trump Breath of the Wild for a good long while, but I'd like to see them try rather than just recycle more old games and slap the word 'Deluxe' on the box.

If Nintendo holds a Switch Direct next week, what are you most hoping to see? Let us know in the comments down below.
