Hot Five: We've gone Switch mad, Turmoil and Dungeon Rushers finally appear, and AcroSplat's still in top form
The hot - hot - HOTTEST stories on PG this week
It's the end of the week, ladies and gents, and you know what that means – it's time for another Hot Five.
This week we had a nice mixture of anticipated games, sudden drops, and fantastic discoveries, not to mention we're one week from the launch of the Nintendo Switch. But let's not talk, let's just get down to it.
Quickly, before we check out the hottest news stories of the week let's have a run down of Switch-related bits that've really piqued our interest.
A list of confirmed games (so far)
Yep, we're only on 46 thus far, but we know there's more out there and more dropping every day.
Ninty Switchy previewPocket Gamer has been lucky enough to see the device in its entirety before launch. Though we didn't have any games to show off, Glen Fox has done a rather lovely preview post, accompanied by the sultry sound of James Gilmore's bari-tones.
Because we're so excited about the Switch's release, Glen opened up an AMA (ask me anything) for you guys to drop some questions into our think-holes.
There's been plenty more this past week, but we'd be here all day if I tried listing them all out. So, without further ado, I present: The Hot Five. The NES Mini comes back into stock...and runs out again
As the subtitle suggests, the NES Mini came back into stock very briefly over the week, before selling out again in under 24 hours. Bad news to those who wanted the system ASAP, but it means that the teeny devices are still in production - there's your silver lining, boo.
Injustice 2 soft launchesLimited stock of both the Nintendo Classic Mini & the Sega Mega Drive Classic console is here now! Don't miss out! pic.twitter.com/out4D96YSF — GAME Coventry (@GAMECoventry) February 16, 2017
I can't say I'm surprised to see Injustice 2 on the list this week. Given how much you guys love the superhero-style batters, and the fact that this has been on a lot of people's radars for a while, it made some people happy by nipping out in the Philippines. Lucky folks.
Turmoil hits out on iPad
If you guys listen to the Pocket Gamer podcast, you'll know by now that this was my game of the week on the Throne of Games, and, boy, has it ported across nicely. Addictive, tidy, and fun, there's not really much else to say about this management simulator other than go take a look at it.
Dungeon Rushers finally appears
Highly anticipated since we previewed the game at last year's Gamescom, Dungeon Rushers finally made an appearance on the App Store and Google Play. Though there are a few negative reviews yammering on about crashes and bugs, the mobile games community has so far been very positive about the game.
AcroSplat is STILL driving you guys crazy
For the first time ever, we've seen the same post reaching our top figures two weeks in a row and it's totally thrown us. AcroSplat is a well-rounded puzzler which plays on education as much as problem solving...and you guys can get enough of it. Though it's due out in a fortnight don't forget to take a nosey over our summary article here, for some light reading.
What were you excited about this week? Let us know in the comments below! Until next Sunday, folks.
