The stunning mystery game Firewatch is headed to the Switch and we're seriously looking forward to it
We're not surprised, but we're excited
I definitely figured that Firewatch would land on the Nintendo Switch eventually, but now we've got the official confirmation I'm pretty stoked. We don't know the exact date, but we know it'll release sometime this spring.
Set in the Wyoming wilderness in 1989, you play as Henry, a grieving husband, who escapes his confused life to work the summer as a fire lookout. Alone for weeks on end with nothing but your typewriter and your supervisor, Delilah, on the other end of your radio, things quickly take an unsettling turn.Soon, take the Wyoming wilderness with you. Firewatch is coming to your Nintendo Switch. https://t.co/rCbbB4rulF pic.twitter.com/pM7nf6XauZ — Campo Santo (@camposanto) April 5, 2018
Though not particularly long, this first-person mystery game is a thrilling ride with some of the prettiest video game visuals I've seen and a fantastic script. It has wonderfully peaceful, funny, and lighthearted moments, and handles its more serious, 'adult' moments with care.
Hopefully, Campo Santo hasn't had to make any sacrifices to bring Firewatch to the Switch as its visuals, audio, and framerate are pretty crucial to your enjoyment and immersion.
I'll also be interested to find out whether the Joy-Cons or their HD Rumble have been used specifically to enhance any moments in the game, but we'll have to wait and see.
