Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD and XII: The Zodiac Age landing on Switch in April
April 16th for the former, 30th for the latter
Here's a double (maybe triple depending on how you count them) dose of Final Fantasy fun for you - Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age have proper release dates for Switch now.
The former, a double-pack of the X and X-2 HD remakes that came to Vita about five years ago, will be hitting Nintendo's console on April 16th. Meanwhile, The Zodiac Age, a more recent HD remake of FFXII, will land on April 30th.
Here's what I remember of these games: Final Fantasy X is a game about playing football in a floating orb of water, while Final Fantasy X-2 is about a J-Pop star trying to find her imaginary friend after she killed god. Both have been given a lick of paint to bring them up to HD standards, and you'll get them together in the same package, but there doesn't seem to be a price yet.
And Final Fantasy X has this infamous scene, which will be difficult to avoid crying laughing at while out in public:
I know precisely nothing about Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age other than the fact it's a rerelease of the last Final Fantasy game to come to PS2. The press release tells me it's about a thief who meets a princess and together they go on an epic journey? Whatever, people loved it when it came out, so it's probably pretty good. No price for that one either.
This is all part of Square's mass-porting of Final Fantasy games to platforms not owned by Sony, which started last year with World of Final Fantasy: Maxima. You can also expect to see Final Fantasy VII join the list some time this year.
So, those dates again: Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD on April 16th, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age on April 30th. Got it? Keep an eye out for our reviews of both when they land.
