Phew, that was intense

E3 2018 Switch, thumbnail 1
Goodness me. Another year and another sea of E3 conferences have nipped past, and Nintendo certainly gave us a lot to look at and think about.

From confirming rumours to showing off the anxiously-awaited Super Smash Bros in great detail, here's everything we learnt about in yesterday's Nintendo Direct complete with all of the appropriate trailers. Y'know, 'cos I'm nice like that.
So many more games to look forward to

#1 Daemon X Machina

  • Arriving: 2019
This is a new fast-paced mech action game where you'll take part in tons of different missions using a fully customisable powered suit. There aren't too many other details just yet, but take a look at the trailer for a better idea.

#2 Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna

  • Arriving: September 21st 2018
Guide your group of legendary warriors on a new adventure in this prequel set 500 years before the events of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Read more details in our news piece right here and take a look at the trailer below.

#3 Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu/Eevee!

  • Arriving: November 16th 2018
We already knew this was a thing, but following the presentation we got a deeper look at the game during Treehouse Live. This RPG certainly looks the part, but I can only hope that it'll deliver a great experience come release.

#4 Super Mario Party

  • Arriving: October 5th 2018
It's been a little while since we've seen any huge party games hitting the Switch and we've definitely been anxiously anticipating the arrival of Mario Party. We've written up a little more detail for you right here, but we already know it's going to be an absolute hoot.

#5 Fire Emblem: Three Houses

  • Arriving: Spring 2019
I guess it's not quite a big Nintendo Direct without the sight of a new Fire Emblem game on the horizon. While we've written it up in more detail just here, Three Houses has new characters and a brand new story in this strategic turn-based RPG.

#6 Fortnite

  • Available: Right now on the eShop
C'mon, do I really have to introduce Fortnite to you? Currently one of the most popular competitive online shooters, Nintendo dropped the game like it was smoking hot during the presentation last night. I mean, it was a kind-of 'I told you so' moment for me, but I'm already excited to see how it fares against PC and mobile.

#7 Overcooked 2

  • Arriving: August 7th 2018
A personal favourite of mine, Overcooked 2 is storming onto Nintendo Switch later this summer with bells on. We wrote about it in more detail here, but you'll be getting even more kitchens to cook in, more characters, more ways to cook, and more chaos. Yes please.

#8 Killer Queen Black

  • Arriving: Winter 2018
This was only a quick mention, but Killer Queen Black is an intense action multiplayer platformer where you and seven other players race to complete one or three victory conditions. It's pixelated, it's going to be intense, it's fun, and you can read up more on it right here.

#9 Hollow Knight

As another quick-dropping surprise Nintendo revealed yesterday, the awesome melancholy platformer, Hollow Knight, popped up on the eShop with all its downloadable content on launch. This one's definitely not something to miss out on if you're a fan of the genre.

#10 Octopath Traveler

  • Arriving: July 13th 2018
With eight travellers to acquaint yourself with there are eight roles to play as you step into each one's shoes and explore the world of Orsterra. We know lots about the game already, but you can grab another demo of it on June 14th on the eShop.

#11 Super Smash Bros.

  • Arriving: December 7th 2018
I'd be here all day if I was going to touch on every detail of Super Smash Bros. so definitely check out this article we wrote up yesterday. We've only got until Christmas to wait for it and it's got a ton of new fighters, new stages, and – well – every fighter that's been in the series so far.

#12 And much, MUCH more
