80's nostalgia is everywhere right now, and an action-adventure platformer called Crossing Souls, which is out on Switch, is another addition to our obsession with spandex and DeLorean ridden era.

Crossing Souls Arcade

You play as a group of five teens going on a Stranger Things style supernatural quest after finding the dead body from Stand By Me… that last bit wasn't true… You find that the body is holding a special gem that allows you to see ghosts, and naturally, the military wants this for themselves. You have to stop the military from getting this valuable item and save the town. Yes, very 80s.

The gameplay has you switch between these different characters in order to perform certain actions and solve puzzles. Like, there is one character who has a jetpack, so he can jump longer distances and another who is able to push heavy objects. The game also has punch 'em up style combat, not so dissimilar from Double Dragon.

Crossing Souls Police

It's quite upfront with its 80s inspiration - it oozes out everywhere from the pretty neon colour pallet, to the Goonies-like story and arcadey combat. And what a better console to be on than a Nintendo one, which made the 80's a whole lot better with its game innovations.

If you feel like being transported back to a groovier time, then you can grab Crossing Souls on Switch right now for £13.49 / $14.99.
