Big news: the new Switch version of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker has sold over 41,000 units in Japan, vastly outselling its Wii U launch. According to Media Create Sales (via Reddit), it sold over 28,000 units in Japan its first week on Nintendo's last home console.

This is just another example of how much better the Switch is than the Wii U [Hey now, let's not forget Tokyo Mirage Sessions -Ed]. The Switch has sold more units in one year than the Wii U’s in its entire lifespan. Not to mention the much better third-party support that the hybrid console is getting.

The Wii U did have some really great games though, Captain Toad being one of them. Quite a few Wii U games have been ported to the Switch already, but there is still room for more.

Hopefully, the success of Captain Toad on Switch will encourage Nintendo to port the entire back catalogue. I'm really just desperate to play Super Mario Maker on Switch.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is available to buy on Switch right now (and on Wii U, if you want to push those sales up). We really like it and think it's worth your time, and if you don't believe us you can read our review here for our thoughts.
