Metroidvania Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is getting a Nintendo Switch version

Born from a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is led by Koji Igarashi, the producer of the Castlevania series. Naturally, it feels like a successor to the series with a striking 2D art and metroidvania-like exploration. A message sent to users in Europe confirms that the game is now targeting a Switch release.

While it was originally announced on Wii-U, it makes more sense to port it to Switch now. A number of high profile indie games have also ditched their planned Wii-U version for a release on Switch.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is currently scheduled to arrive sometime in 2018.
