Asmodee Digital is bringing Catan, Carcassone, Pandemic and more board games to Switch
|

During the latest Nintendo Direct, it was announced that some classic board games including Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne, and Munchkin will be getting the digital treatment on Switch. Asmodee Digital, who are responsible for absolutely loads of digital board game remakes, will be handling the ports to Switch that will also feature local multiplayer modes for each game.

The award-winning tile building game, Carcassonne, will be making its way on Switch this December along with its expansions as paid DLC. The tough co-op game, Pandemic, will be out March 2019, also getting its expansions as DLC. And the deck-builder, Lord of the Rings: Living Card Game, will available in April 2019.

The Direct also promised two other board games coming later on. Both Settlers of Catan and Munchkin will make the jump to Switch at some point in the future.

A lot of these game are already available digitally on mobile devices, but for folks that might not have a decent tablet to play them on now have the option to get them for the Switch instead - yay, more options for us!

I imagine there will be even more digital tabletop games coming to the Switch in the future, so stay tuned to Pocket Gamer for more news.
