Praise the gods, Animal Crossing is coming to Switch in 2019
And Isabelle's gearing up for a scrap
That's it, folks. Shut it all down. 2019 is dedicated to one thing alone - a new mainline entry for Animal Crossing on Switch.
Yes, as finally revealed on last night's Direct, Tom Nook & co. are coming back for another round of relaxing village living, topped off with crushing debts and friends who make you run all their errands.

We don't have any more info than the fact there's a game in the works, sadly. But it's enough. We can finally breathe easy. Phew!
Before then, AC's favourite adorable puppy Isabelle is making a surprise appearance as a playable fighter in Smash Bros Ultimate. Based on her reveal trailer, she looks to be an Omega version of Villager - she has all the same moves but will act in a slightly different fashion.

Honestly, both of these things are fantastic news. There hasn't been a home console version of Animal Crossing since the Wii one, and it'll be hilarious to see if anyone brings Isabelle up to the high rankings of competitive Smash.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate, now starring Isabelle, lands on December 7th. There's no fixed date for the new Animal Crossing, but expect it in 2019.
