You may well have played a browser game from Sophie Houlden if you're into your indie offerings. She's the mind behind Boxgame, The Linear RPG, and Dinosaurs Didn't Have Keyboards, and her games are always quirky and entertaining.

If you like to stick to your mobile gaming, however, then you're in luck - Houlden's now released her first iOS game, in the form of one-touch puzzler Swift Stitch.

Having played the original Swift Stitch for PC, I feel it is now my duty to explain to you exactly what the game entails. Essentially, you're a small ship flying through the deepest of space, dodging walls and bouncing off force fields.

The ship travels in a straight line, and will change direction by 90 degrees depending on whether you are pressing the screen or not.

Force of nature

There are numerous obstacles, mind, such as coloured lines that will reverse your direction of travel, and other force fields that will suddenly cause your ship to fire off in an arc, making for some incredibly tricky balancing acts.

The iOS version of Swift Stitch is free to download, although you'll have to pay to unlock all of the levels. It's 69p / 99c to begin with, although Houlden warns that the price will increase after this launch week. You might want to check it out sharpish, then.
