Surface to Air Mayhem comes to the App Store

Iron Square has recently released its take on the classic Missile Command gameplay in the shape of Surface to Air Mayhem.

The game works on a similar premise as you defend your air base against wave after wave of attacking aircraft using surface-to-air missiles. What's immediately noticeable here are the awesome visuals, which also suggest the main difference in gameplay to typical Missile Command mechanics: Your attackers, in this case, aren't falling from the sky but weaving horizontally across the screen, so aiming and defending will undoubtedly take on a very different dimension.

With 65 levels, an online leaderboard and a special 'mayhem' attack system (which allows you to go screen-tapping crazy and unleash a sky full of fire when the odds pile up), it looks like a worthy addition to the retro adaptation canon.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
