Super Speed Machines approaching fast on DS
Classic arcade racing promised
Midas Interactive is hoping to recapture that classic top-down arcade racing spirit with its upcoming DS title Super Speed Racer.
Sure enough, it's played from a zoomed out birds-eye perspective and features a range of hazard-strewn locations to zip through. In fact it bears a strong resemblance to classic console racer Micro Machines, which is no bad thing.
With over 30 vehicles to choose from, including Rally, 4x4, Sports, Muscle, Custom and Classic cars you won't be short of options whether you're racing a Grand Prix or blasting through a quick Single Race.
Midas is promising plenty of unlockable vehicles and add-ons along the way, as well as single-card multiplayer modes for two to four players.
If it plays half as well as its obvious inspiration, it could be well worth a look. It's due on July 4th so we don't have to wait long to find out.
