Fed up with Pac-Man? Join the club. Much as we love the little yella fella, he's been knocking about the higher reaches of the UK mobile games charts for a couple of years now. Even the ghosts are getting bored of him.

Well, get ready for next generation Pac-Man. No, he hasn't gone all 3D (yet). Instead, Namco unveiled Super Pac-Man at E3 last week, which is a conversion of the unheralded arcade sequel that originally came out in 1982.

The latest game has a bunch of new features. For example, Pac-Man can turn into Super Pac-Man, which makes him twice the size and speeds him up. He can also collect keys to open locked doors in the mazes, and the game is chock full of fruit instead of pills.

The game is being released initially in the States by Namco Networks (the company's US mobile games division), but the success of Pac-Man in Europe means it will hopefully come out here before too long.
