Cygnus Enterprises is the latest PC game from Team Miaozi, now available on Steam in Early Access
Developed by Team Miaozi and published alongside NetEase, Cygnus Enterprises is a treat for all sci-fi fans. This new project, available right now in Early Access on Steam for $19.99, combines action RPG and base management elements, tasking players with building settlements on an alien and defending them from the alien lifeforms that inhabit the planet.
Cygnus Enterprises is a single-player game that merges different genres and styles, featuring top-down shooter/action RPG mechanics where the player must fight hordes of aliens and explore uncharted regions.
The game features six character classes to choose from: Security, Pilot, Medic, Engineer, Socializer, and Scientist, each with its corresponding attributes and skill tree. You’ll also have more than fifty, upgradeable, weapons available to help you vanquish your enemies and - so you don’t have to take on the quest all alone - assistance from a PEA (Personal Electronic Assistant); a drone that assists in collecting and providing data and reviving the character when needed.
Cygnus Enterprises isn’t just about fighting though. The City Management phase adds a strategic element where you must protect both your settlements and settlers from danger. A well-designed base will have a better chance of surviving against the evil inhabitants of Mytilus and a happy settlement will ensure the smooth operation of the player’s mission.
Team Miaozi has sought to highlight their beliefs for humanity’s potential with Cygnus Enterprises, stating: “Cygnus Enterprises is a positive sci-fi game, recently we noticed that most of the futuristic games opt for a pessimistic, post-apocalyptic, or decadent view. We grew up with Star Trek and we always regarded the future with optimism. Cygnus depicts a bright future, with beautiful environments and a positive setting”.
