DS and PSP re-enter the Clone Wars with Republic Heroes

We're probably much too old for this animated Star Wars stuff, but we have to admit we enjoyed the DS Star Wars The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance game that came out at the end of 2008. And apparently so did LucasArts, as it's just announced a second series of tie-in games for the Cartoon Network TV series.

Called Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes, they will be coming out for DS and PSP (yes, and PS3, X360, PS2, Wii and PC) in September.

The PSP version - developed at Australian outfit Krome Studios - will follow the second series of The Clone Wars TV series with bounty hunter Cad Bane and Skakoan supervillain Kul Teska taking the bad guys positions.

Surprise, surprise, you'll be taking the roles of Jedi knights and clone troopers to combat their evil schemes with a combination of lightsaber slicing-and-dicing, and heavy weapons armament such as rocket launchers and thermal detonators, plus use of vehicles and jet packs.

The DS version - which like the previous version will be developed at LucasArts Singapore - will take a different approach, following an expanded storyline based on the first season of the TV show.

You can find out more at the official Republic Heroes website.
