Trivia games are a natural choice for mobile phone games; they don’t require flashy visuals, don’t take ages to learn and don’t rely on complex controls. That’s why they’re so popular and have give rise to some big names: Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Trivial Pursuit and now this, Star Wars Challenge. Although Star Wars Challenge is perhaps the most intriguing of the trio and, at the same time, the one with most niche appeal. Both Trivial Pursuit and Millionaire have been big sellers, riding high in the UK mobile game download charts for the past six months, and we’d be surprised if this scored as many sales as those.

Still, there’s obviously a demand for such a game and the Pocket Gamer team, ever ready to prove their nerdiness, sorry, knowledge, will no doubt be picking up the gauntlet. Star Wars Challenge is made up of three rounds and completing each will see you move up from a lowly Padawan to an experienced Jedi Master and, if you really know your stuff, a place on the Jedi Council. The first round requires that you answer ten questions on a broad range of Star Wars-related topics. With multiple choice answers rewarding you with between 1 and 3 points, you’ll need to score at least 9 to earn your lightsaber and take your first step to mastery of The Force.

The second mission brings with it a new challenge; after choosing a specialist subject matter, you’ll have to answer three questions or more, in a row, without getting any wrong. The more consecutive questions you answer correctly, the more points you pocket. Succeed and you’ll progress to the third and final round where you’re given 90 seconds to answer as many questions correctly as you can.

You’ll be able to save your scores on the leaderboard and challenge your friends to see who the biggest Star Wars fan is. The game is being released by THQ Wireless and will be available this summer across all networks.
