Top-down strategic-shooter Split! is looking to escape the confines of the App Store and take cover on your iPhone and iPad.

This debut iOS effort from indie dev Touchy Studios combines strategic line-drawing mechanics with map navigation, and then engulfs the resulting concoction in a thick fog of bullets.

It's your mission to guide colour-coded escapees Red and Blue out of a heavily secured prison complex.

Rather than assuming direct control of the pair, you must draw the routes you want your jailbird buddies to take onto the screen, and try to manoeuvre them into strategically advantageous positions.

Choose the best cover spots, and you will have a fighting chance against the legions of trigger-happy prisons guards itching to send you to the big jail cell in the sky.
