Double Trouble for Gameloft's new Splinter Cell

Secret agent Sam Fisher gets in touch with his dark side

Double Trouble for Gameloft's new Splinter Cell

We've got some more details on Gameloft's upcoming Splinter Cell: Double Agent, and it's sounding like a gripping action/adventure.

The game's big twist is that as stubbly hero Sam Fisher, you have to go undercover to destroy a terrorist group from within. What does that mean? Why, the chance to take on a series of EVIL missions without blowing your cover.

This equals tension and tough decisions, as you try to complete the missions without actually killing people or Doing Bad Things. Don't go thinking you can just romp through, shooting innocent bystanders for the fun of it – your score is based on how well you avoid this kind of unnecessary bloodshed.

The game will be set across a range of environments, including a prison, a cruise ship, a TV studio and underwater. Gameloft is promising a host of new gadgets for Sam to play with, including stun guns and magnetic grenades.

There's even a spot of shark-fighting, which is the most exciting thing in our opinion. There'll be four difficulty levels too, although you'll have to complete the game to unlock two of them.

All in all, it's shaping up to be the most mouth-watering Splinter Cell yet. Click 'Track It!' for a stealthy reminder when we review the final game.
