Enigma has just announced a brand new DS platformer called Spidy (no, nothing to do with Stan 'The Man' Lee's creation) in which you draw webs to swing around the levels creating cunning traps to ensnare the insect populous.

Spidy apparently makes heavy use of its gaming physics engine as you jump, grab and swing around the beautiful looking environments. On top of this unique control system, the game proises to add a bit of DSi-specific enhancement when creating your own levels.

Using the DSi's camera, you'll be able to take a snapshot of a level design drawn out on paper, then share it online with other players as well as spinning a few webs about the place yourself.

Spidy comes with 20 maps already included, and also boasts co-op and competitive multiplayer for up to four other would-be arachnids.

No news on a release date yet, but it's great to see the DSi being put to innovative use, at least.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
