Spice unveils X-1 gaming phone for India

Indian handset maker Spice has unveiled its latest handset, the X-1 Gaming Phone.

It's a candybar phone with a plug-in gaming controller, which has a D-pad, four traditional buttons plus Select and Start keys.

Looks familiar? That's because it's the buffed-up commercial release of something we saw at the Mobile World Congress show back in February.

Then, it was known as Game King, and looked a bit on the cheap side. The X-1 certainly looks a bit classier.

Anyway, the phone will ship with a bunch of games preloaded on it, although it's unclear whether the controller attachment will work with downloadable games too.

It's being sold in India only for now.
