Special Crime Unit: Worth investigating

It's CSI on your phone! Except not officially CSI, obviously...

Special Crime Unit: Worth investigating

If you're going to take inspiration from TV shows for your hot new mobile game, you might as well take it from the best. And Gameloft's newie, Special Crime Unit: Blood on Campus, has more than a whiff of CSI about it.

It's being billed as 'the first scientific investigation game for mobile phones', and concerns a beautiful young student who's found dead and partially undressed in a beachfront motel room.

Your job, as the Special Crime Unit, is to find out who killed her and why, by collecting and analysing the evidence, and interrogating the prime suspects. Tools at your disposal include a UV lamp and fingerprint detector among others.

It looks like multiple-choice questioning will be a key part of the game, uncovering the secrets of a cast of characters while showing off your cutting-edge gadgetry.

While the inspiration for the game is pretty clear (not least to Phoenix Wright fans), it's certainly an original idea as far as mobile games go.
