Space Truckers parks itself at the App Store
And delivers some freight-based gameplay
Some people want to visit outer space in search of answers. Others want to visit aliens, perhaps even conquer them; and others still want to leave terra firma simply to say they've crossed a frontier few humans cross, seen sights few humans see, and urinated into a receptacle far more complicated than most humans will ever urinate into.
Oh, and some want to deliver freight, for which constituency iMakeApps has released Space Truckers, a game about taking goods from one part of the universe to another in a spaceship constructed for that purpose.
Being a space game, it's far more eventful than terrestrial trucking, where the greatest threats to life are falling asleep, contracting Ebola from truck stop gravy, or being murdered by a hitchhiker. In Space Truckers there are asteroids, other craft, and miscellaneous objects to avoid, as well as power-ups and fuel to collect.
Is it any good? Well, on the App Store product page the developer has included the line "you can enter a cool trucker name to go along with your saved high scores." We could speculate that a game being sold on the fact that it's possible to choose a name when entering you score doesn't have too much to offer, but we won't be churlish.
