Taito celebrates its iPhone anniversary with a Space Invaders, Arkanoid sale

It's apparently one year to the day since Taito first took to the App Store with an iPhone adaptation of its classic, genre-defining Space Invaders, and the gaming giant is celebrating with a small but enticing sale.

Space Invaders, Arkanoid, and Cameltry will all be going on sale for a limited period, at a considerable discount (not entirely sure what that discount is yet, as the sale doesn't seem to have kicked off at the moment).

Although there are no details as yet, Taito also tells us it's now working on a brand new game designed specifically for the iPhone. More news is expected on this mystery game over the next few weeks, so stay tuned.

Let's also hope it's working on some more retro conversions. Taito has an awesome back catalogue of arcade classics like The New Zealand Story, Rainbow Islands, Bubble Bobble, Operation Wolf and a bunch of others that would make awesome iPhone games.
